It's been 3 amazing months over here. I feel like I know Luke so well and have had him forever. I really forget what life was like without him. Dave and I are just in awe of how amazing he is.
I truly love being a mom. I hoped I would love it and thought I would, but I was nervous I would have some PPD or not feel right. I'm so happy I didn't have any PPD or supply issues and bonded quickly with him. I had my placenta encapsulated and I truly think the 6 weeks of pills helped with energy, mood, and breastfeeding.
We just got back from another trip- my brother's wedding in Vermont. We had a great time and Luke traveled well. Luke was the star of the show in his little bowtie outfit (From SaraSweetandSmall on Etsy)

I am going back to work .25 time as an Instructional Coach and can not be more thrilled because it really was my next career goal. I'm now in the process of securing daycare for 2 days a week. I think 10 hours a week is the perfect medium for me- spending the majority of time with Luke, keeping my foot in the door at school and having a few extra daycare hours to have some me time every now and then
I'm really happy we've been able to breastfeed for 3 months. It means a lot to me that I can after 2 breast reduction surgeries. I don't have supply issues and he doesn't have latch issues but he does have attention issues where he nurses and only gets about 2 oz at a time. This makes us have to nurse every 2 hours. I also give him 3 (4-6oz) bottles a day to make sure he is getting enough. It's been a stressful experience with a lot of time spent with the lactation consultant but we're still chugging over here. I don't know anyone who hasn't had some breastfeeding issue which just isn't fair. It's supposed to be easy and natural. I also had mastitis last week which was the worst. 101 fever, migraine, chills, pain. It was bad and I hope I don't get it again.
The past 3 months have went by slow but fast. It's been an adjustment being home so much but we've actually stayed pretty busy. It's been easier than I thought and he's a good, flexible baby. Luke has been sleeping all night for awhile now, is a happy, playful baby and has lots of energy. I'm happy about that now but in the next few months I might wish he didn't have so much energy!
3 month stats:
