21 weeks and Thanksgiving

We had our anatomy scan this week- Babelet looks healthy and is kicking, arching it's back, and moving like crazy. I'm really surprised I can't feel more of this movement but I was so glad to see our precious babelet in there! My due date is staying the same- everything is on target!

This week was Thanksgiving and my in-laws are visiting for the week! We have so much to be thankful for this year. I'm so excited about our life- life is good!

20 weeks- Halfway There!

20 weeks! Halfway!

I'm happy to say that 19 weeks was the turning point and I finally feel semi-normal again. For the most part, my appetite has returned (not to pre-pregnancy standards but way more than lately). I have a little more energy, can function like a normal person and feel a lot better.
I still over-do it easily and need to be in bed before 9 but that's what a 5:30am alarm will do for ya!

It was this week that I finally have felt consistent flutters and now that they are more consistent, I think I felt the first one around 17-18 weeks but it was just once or twice. Last night, babelet was going crazy in there for about 5 minutes! What a weird but amazing feeling. They still aren't strong enough for Dave to feel but hopefully he can soon.

We have our anatomy scan scheduled for next Friday (20w6d) so hopefully they can get a good picture of babelet without telling us the gender! We are still happily Team Green!

I told my class of 1st graders about the baby yesterday and they were super excited. I read them "Our Teacher's Having a Baby" by Eve Bunting and through the whole story they were clueless. I Love how oblivious 6 year olds are. Once I told them I was having a baby (on Easter and that it's a long time away- first Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentines Day THEN Easter) they were squealing and jumping up and down. A few girls ran around the playground telling everyone they could. It was adorable. I love my first graders!

I'm excited for Thanksgiving but can't believe it's already next week. Thanksgiving is usually my favorite holiday but I won't be with my parents this year so I'm a little bummed. Dave's parents are coming out to visit for the week so the 4 of us will have a nice week. It's so difficult cooking a proper Thanksgiving for 4 people- 2 desserts just doesn't sound right.

Speaking of holidays, I've also started my holiday cookie baking today. I'm going to make and freeze some dough to start baking in a few weeks. Read about my baking adventures - here!

Alright... I know, I've been a crappy blogger. I was hoping to be better about keeping up with this. I'm going to start right now by uploading some pictures. I guess I'll go all the way back since it'll be nice to have all the progression pics in the same place.
